South Burnett & Cherbourg On Show wasn’t just about races, parades, open days and 4WDs … there was also “culture” on the menu for the long weekend.<\/p>\n

There was a huge chorale extravaganza at the Kingaroy Town Hall, hosted by the South Burnett Chorale, which attracted visitors to the area from all over Queensland, and the South Burnett Community Orchestra put on an instrumental music workshop which culminated in a public concert.<\/p>\n

Both events were put on with assistance from South Burnett Regional Council’s RADF fund.<\/p>\n

Symphony In The South Burnett<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The South Burnett Community Orchestra hosted a weekend of workshops for local orchestral musicians at the Kingaroy Uniting Church Hall.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tutors led the players in different sessions focusing \u00a0on woodwind, brass, percussion and strings.<\/p>\n

All the hard work was capped off with a free community concert on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

As well as the RADF support, the training was also subsidised by the Foundation For Rural and Regional Renewal.<\/p>\n

The Big Sing<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The South Burnett Chorale hosted the Australian National Choral Association of Queensland’s “Big Sing” at the Kingaroy Town Hall over the weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ANCA Big Sing attracted singers from around the State for a weekend of rehearsals under the leadership of conductor Peter Ingram.<\/p>\n

The weekend reached a crescendo on Sunday afternoon with a public concert at the Town Hall which featured a massed choir with hundreds of voices.<\/p>\n
