Toowoomba councillor Anne Glasheen is urging Yarraman and Cooyar residents to nominate outstanding residents for the 2015 Australia Day Awards.<\/p>\n

Cr Glasheen, who is chair of\u00a0Toowoomba Regional Council’s Australia Day Organising Committee, said\u00a0the\u00a0deadline to nominate someone for an award was October 31, so “the clock is ticking”.<\/p>\n

She said Australia Day Awards were an opportunity to recognise the neighbourhood heroes who have worked tirelessly for the betterment of their community.<\/p>\n

“These people serve as an inspiration to others and we are eager to see them acknowledged for their efforts,” Cr Glasheen said.<\/p>\n

“If you know somebody who has stepped up in sporting endeavours, community work, artistic or cultural activities … then make sure you nominate them for an Australia Day Award.”<\/p>\n

Nominations are sought across a whole range of categories:<\/p>\n
