Jodi Cornell … hoping to translate her internet success into Shoppingworld sales<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Kingaroy businesswoman Jodi Cornell has been selling her wares \u00a0successfully online for the past six years … now she’s hoping to convert that success into a bricks-and-mortar business.<\/p>\n

Jodi began Little Bit Lush to meet a need for “mums, bubs and kids”.<\/p>\n

She’s been selling through online marketing and through boutique markets in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n

She’s also had a “mini” store set up in a shed at her home but believed that buyers felt they were intruding if they dropped in to browse.<\/p>\n

“That’s why I have started the shop. People have been asking for it!” she said.<\/p>\n

Jodi is officially opening Little Bit Lush today for a three-month trial in Kingaroy Shoppingworld.<\/p>\n

To give the experiment a fair go, she’ll be closing her online store and market stalls until she “gets into a bit of rhythm” with the new shop.<\/p>\n

She began Little Bit Lush almost by accident when she was pregnant with her first child.<\/p>\n

“I was buying outfits for her and I couldn’t find accessories that matched, so I started making them,” she said.<\/p>\n

“A lot of mothers kept asking me ‘Where did you get that?’. It escalated from there …”<\/p>\n

Jodi still makes some of the items she sells, including clothing lines and candles, but also buys in products from other mothers as well as specialist suppliers.<\/p>\n

For her new Shoppingworld store, she has located a lot of new suppliers, but has assured regular customers that all her old lines are still available.<\/p>\n

She says she sells “things that are a bit unique” – everything from nappy bags to bridal pieces, headgear, children’s clothing and furniture, \u00a0and “lots and lots of toys”.<\/p>\n

“We’re here to Christmas,” she said. “The lead-up to Christmas should be the key months. After that, it will depend on how much support I get.<\/p>\n
