Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk has pledged that Stanwell – operators of the Tarong power stations and Meandu coal mine – will not be sold by Labor if she becomes Premier after the next State election.<\/p>\n

Ms Palaszczuk made the commitment while meeting with Stanwell workers yesterday near Rockhampton.<\/p>\n

\u201cCampbell Newman promised he wouldn\u2019t sell off Queenslanders electricity assets, yet now he is,\u201d Ms Palaszczuk said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy commitment to the people of Queensland, especially those in this region that rely on the State\u2019s electricity assets for employment, is that only Labor will protect these assets from privatisation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
