Lyrics Restaurant owner Eleanor Kratzmann will be holding a Seafood Sunday in conjunction with the new Bunya Mountains Markets at Dandabah this weekend<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Bunya Mountains are expecting a big day on Sunday when they launch their new monthly Bunya Mountains Markets at the Dandabah picnic grounds.<\/p>\n

The markets are the brainchild of Bunya Mountains Accommodation Centre operator Sue Unwin.<\/p>\n

“We are very excited about our first market,” Sue told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> this week.<\/p>\n

“We’re capping the number of stalls at 15-20 and are looking at giving visitors a really great Bunya experience with quality, locally produced fresh produce and crafts.”<\/p>\n

In future, the new markets will run on the last Sunday of each month.<\/p>\n

“We’re aiming to have different stalls each month to enhance our visitors’ experience,” Sue said.<\/p>\n

Other Bunya Mountains tourist operators have also jumped aboard the concept<\/strong><\/p>\n

Poppies On The Hill cafe will be offering a special Market Day menu, including a BBQ lunch along with Bunya Nut sundaes and ice-cream cones, coffee and treats.<\/p>\n

And across the road, the Bunyas Cafe will be open all day for morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, their adjoining Lyrics licensed restaurant will be offering a Seafood Sunday featuring a 100% seafood menu using fresh seafood brought up from the coast the day beforehand.<\/p>\n

Seafood Sundays will also be held on the last Sunday of each month in future after an “overwhelmingly positive” reaction to the concept when it was trialled in August, according to owner Eleanor Kratzmann.<\/p>\n

“The Bunya Mountains are a South Burnett icon and one of the most beautiful places in our region,” she said.<\/p>\n

“We’re all getting right behind Sue’s concept because we want to encourage more locals to visit the area and have fun.”<\/p>\n

The markets will run from 9:00am to 2:00pm.<\/p>\n

Bus companies from Toowoomba will also be bringing along visitors from the Darling Downs to add to the excitement.<\/p>\n

Walking track maps will be available from market stands, local cafes and The Bunyas General Store for visitors who want to explore the nearby National Park rainforest.<\/p>\n
