The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service has warned there is a very high forest fire danger rating for today and tomorrow for residents in the North Coast region – particularly around Kingaroy, Gayndah and Monto.<\/p>\n

Residents have been warned to be cautious and vigilant in the coming days.<\/p>\n

There have been several fires in this region recently and firefighters are taking measures to prepare for more vegetation fires.<\/p>\n

“People planning hazard reduction burns should re-evaluate their plans and speak directly with their fire warden first,” a QFRS spokesman said.<\/p>\n

“Do not throw cigarette butts out of car windows and be careful when operating machinery in dry grassed areas.<\/p>\n

“Residents should prepare their homes and properties. Now is a good time to download and finalise your bushfire survival plan<\/strong><\/a>.”<\/p>\n

UPDATE: A fire burning this morning in Burnett Street at Nanango has been extinguished. Fire crews this afternoon put out a vegetation fire on the Chinchilla-Wondai Road at Durong.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
