The South Burnett Youth Concert Band will be joining more than 3000 primary and secondary school students at the University of Southern Queensland on Thursday for this year’s TYME Festival.<\/p>\n

From 10:00am to 2:00pm TYME (Today\u2019s Youth In Music Education) will feature performances from string ensembles, concert and stage bands, solo singers, junior and senior choirs across eight stages.<\/p>\n

Admission is free.<\/p>\n

The young South Burnett musicians will take to Stage 1 in the Arts Theatre at 11:45am.<\/p>\n

USQ Vice-Chancellor Professor Jan Thomas said the annual TYME Festival never failed to entertain and enthral.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe TYME Festival is a must-see event which offers a kaleidoscope of activities under the watchful eyes of some of the best teachers in the State,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is one of those activities that inevitably get rave reviews from almost everyone and USQ is proud to support this very worthwhile event.\u201d<\/p>\n

The festival is run by the Department of Education, Training and Employment with support from USQ.<\/p>\n

DETE Regional Music Co-ordinator for the Darling Downs South West Region, Garry Poole, said he was looking forward to another excellent festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cI encourage attendees to take full advantage of the many excellent performances taking place throughout the day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Festival showcases the excellent performing arts programs in our schools from across the region and brings them all to the world-class facilities at USQ.\u201d<\/p>\n

Food stalls, an information booth and campus tours will also be available throughout the day.<\/p>\n
