Cherbourg’s Yurri Muntha Cafe will be adding an indigenous cooking touch to the South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show<\/strong><\/a> long weekend.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, October 4, the Cafe will be serving a special lunch menu featuring succulent ribs and homemade lavender cheese cake from 12 noon to 2:00pm.<\/p>\n

Seats for this special lunch are $22 per head.<\/p>\n

But if you’d prefer something else on the Cafe’s menu or would just like to drop in for morning tea, no problem!<\/p>\n

The Cafe will be open between 10:00am and 2:00pm that day for anyone who’d like to drop by.<\/p>\n

The Yurri Muntha Cafe opened near Cherbourg’s Ration Shed Museum in 2013 and now provides the community with full cafe and catering services.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Cafe is owned by Cherbourg Shire Council, run by full-time manager and professional caterer Sheree Strauss and staffed by indigenous trainees.<\/p>\n

In addition to light meals, lunches and refreshments, it also stocks a range of authentic bush sauces, jams and condiments. And original indigenous artworks by Cherbourg artists adorn its walls.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, October 4 the Cafe will be running in tandem with the Ration Shed’s Museum Open Day (which will also run from 10:00am to 2:00pm) so that visitors can enjoy morning tea at the Cafe, take a tour of the Ration Shed Museum, and then return to Yurri Muntha for lunch if they like.<\/p>\n
