\"South<\/a>A sumptuous three-course dinner of South Burnett foods and wines enlivened by bush tucker flavours will officially launch this year’s South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show October long weekend festival.<\/p>\n

The “Sample The South Burnett and Cherbourg Dinner” will be held in the historic 111-year-old Wondai Hotel and Cellar on Friday, October 3.<\/p>\n

The Wondai Hotel and Cellar was re-opened as part of last year’s festival after almost a year of extensive refurbishments, and was chosen as “the perfect location” for a dinner that celebrates both the South Burnett’s history and its more recent accomplishments in food and wine.<\/p>\n

The feast will be prepared by experienced chefs from Cherbourg’s Yurri Muntha Cafe using local ingredients under the supervision of executive manager Sheree Strauss, then served by the cafe’s staff.<\/p>\n

Each course will also be accompanied by a matching wine from Clovely Estate, Barambah Wines and Moffatdale Ridge vineyards.<\/p>\n

Clovely Estate at Moffatdale was recently awarded a 5-star grading in this year’s Australian Wine Guide by noted wine authority James Halliday – one of only nine wineries in Queensland to achieve this prestigious ranking.<\/p>\n

And in recent years both Barambah Wines and Moffatdale Ridge have also won numerous awards for their products.<\/p>\n

Each of the wines served during the dinner will be introduced by experts who’ll share their knowledge about how it was produced and the finer points of what diners should look for when they drink each one.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, guests can dance the night away with live entertainment from new Indigenous band Deadly Wayz or get acquainted with “Chloe”, the Wondai Hotel’s reproduction of the National Trust-listed painting that has been hanging in Melbourne\u2019s famous Young & Jackson Hotel since 1909.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the full dinner with wines went on sale this week at $88 per head.<\/p>\n

But diners who – for whatever reason – don’t want to have wines with their dinner won’t be disadvantaged: “wine-free” dinner tickets are also available for $66, with guests welcome to buy whatever they prefer at the Wondai Hotel and Cellar’s bar on the night.<\/p>\n

Tickets to the dinner are strictly limited and will only be available until the event is sold out.<\/p>\n
