SBRC councillor Ros Heit with Leadership Award winner Matthew Armstrong, from Child Safety<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

September 10, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Matthew Armstrong has repeated his success at the recent Queensland Child Protection Week\u00a0awards by taking out the Leadership Award at the South Burnett Child Safety Awards.<\/p>\n

Matthew, from Child Safety in Kingaroy, was last week named winner of the prestigious\u00a0Professional (Government) title at the State awards.<\/p>\n

He was presented with his South Burnett award at a dinner held at Dusty Hill Winery at Moffatdale on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Also announced on the night was the winner of the Joy Kite Award for Exceptional Practice with Families.<\/p>\n

This award remembers Joy Kite, who worked victims of domestic violence in the South Burnett until she died from cancer in 2012.<\/p>\n

She was much-respected by her peers and colleagues for the caring and compassionate way she worked with clients.<\/p>\n

This is the third year the award has been presented.<\/p>\n

The 2014 winner is Amy Bromley from Child Safety.<\/p>\n

Rookie of the Year is Tim Hinton from South Burnett CTC’s residential team.<\/p>\n
