beyondblue’s Big Blue Bus dropped into the South Burnett today to raise awareness about mental health issues and spread the word that help is available.<\/p>\n

The bus, which is touring Australia as part of a National Roadshow organised by beyondblue, set up at the Nanango Markets before travelling across to Kingaroy for a free sausage sizzle in Memorial Park.<\/p>\n

beyondblue roadshow team member Shaun Staunton said the visits by the Big Blue Bus provided an opportunity for a “chat and check”.<\/p>\n

They tried to time them to coincide with other activities in town.<\/p>\n

The bus originally wasn’t going to visit the South Burnett during its Queensland tour until organisers received a petition organised by Pathway 2 Hope founder Kaye Hibbs.<\/p>\n

Kaye and her volunteers were busy manning the sausage sizzle in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Shaun said trained counsellors could be contacted at beyondblue by telephone 24\/7 on 1300-224-636 or by online chat<\/a> from 4:00pm-10:00pm daily.<\/strong><\/p>\n
