Kingaroy Kindergarten’s elegant marquee at the Nanango Races on Saturday drew a crowd of 161 people keen to help a good cause.<\/p>\n

As part of its fund-raising drive to build a new kindy facility, the Kindergarten set up a private marquee at the races and sold tickets through Kingaroy’s Carrollee Hotel.<\/p>\n

Guests who purchased $80 tickets enjoyed free return bus travel from Kingaroy, free entry to the races and a race book, food and drink, \u00a0live music and even the services of a private bookie.<\/p>\n

There were also prizes for the best-dressed man and woman and a raffle with $600 worth of prizes.<\/p>\n

Kindy organisers said they were “absolutely delighted” with the turn-out and that the day would help make a significant contribution towards completing the kindergarten’s new playground, fencing and car parking.<\/p>\n

Nanango Race Club secretary Rosemary Hansen said she was also very pleased with the event.<\/p>\n

“This is the second private marquee we’ve had set up at the races recently, and we hope we see more of them in the future,” she said.<\/p>\n

“They’re a great way to treat customers to a really memorable day out or – in this case – to raise funds for a worthwhile cause.”<\/p>\n
