The lawns of Haly Creek’s historic Taabinga Station were packed with music lovers on Sunday afternoon for the South Burnett Chorale’s “Aussie With A Twist” concert.<\/p>\n

Twenty-two members of the Chorale took to the stage, and were accompanied by several members of the South Burnett Community Orchestra.<\/p>\n

Over the course of 90 minutes they presented a range of songs that included many traditional Australian favourites such as Waltzing Matilda, The Road To Gundagai and Advance Australia Fair, along with a few surprises.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, guests mingled with the performers as they enjoyed a relaxed afternoon tea in the pleasant pre-Spring weather.<\/p>\n

The Chorale’s members had rehearsed the songs in the concert for several months beforehand.<\/p>\n

The singing group rehearses in Kingaroy once a week under the leadership of conductor Margaret Shepherdson, and new members are always welcome.<\/p>\n

The Chorale’s next public performances will be their annual Christmas Charity Concerts, which are held in Murgon, Wondai, Kingaroy and Nanango in late November or early December each year.<\/p>\n

All proceeds from the Christmas Charity Concerts go to aid local charities.<\/p>\n
