The Nanango Panthers came out on top in this year’s 1st Division Grand Final<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Saturday was a perfect day for the Evolution Solar Football League Grand Finals in Nanango.<\/p>\n

Once again the Panthers Club hosted a wonderful day and Fred Kassulke Oval was in great condition.<\/p>\n

The day was also used as a fundraiser for the Australian Multiple Sclerosis Society as support for Ex-Panther player Justin Mangan who has been diagnosed with MS (donate at www.mssociety.org.au<\/a><\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Nanango were involved in all three Grand Finals but their hopes of a clean sweep vanished in 2nd Division.<\/p>\n

Every team in the competition has been searching for a way to beat Nanango who have been the benchmark in men\u2019s football in the South Burnett for three years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The only blips were a 2-0 loss to Gunners in last year\u2019s President’s Cup and a 2-1 loss to Willowburn in the FFA Cup. This season they have gone through the premiership season not only undefeated but not dropping a point.<\/p>\n

Barambah have played well this year despite losing six players over the season due to different reasons. With nothing to lose they posed a real danger to this Nanango side.<\/p>\n

Nanango attacked from the kick-off and used the blistering pace of David Ashby and Thomas Mangan to propel the team forward.<\/p>\n

It paid off in the 11th minute when Elliot Mangan slotted in a close-range shot to give Nanango an early lead.<\/p>\n

That lead was short lived when Barambah were awarded a penalty for a foul inside the box.<\/p>\n

Sheldon Livingstone made no mistake with the kick and it was 1-1.<\/p>\n

Both teams looked to use the width of the park and the game opened up.<\/p>\n

In the 31st minute Elliot Mangan scored his second from close range to give Nanango the lead once again.<\/p>\n

A minute before halftime Nanango were awarded a penalty for an indiscretion by the Barambah keeper. Kieran Askin scored from the penalty to give Nanango a 3-1 lead at half-time.<\/p>\n

The second half was a real battle with very few chances. Both defences stood strong and in the end no more goals were scored.<\/p>\n

It was a valiant effort from Barambah who can hold their heads high.<\/p>\n

And well done to Nanango. It is no mean feat to go through a season undefeated; \u00a0it is a huge deal to do it three years in a row.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Lauren Mangan and the team.<\/p>\n

Best on the park was Jayden Mollenhauer for Barambah and Elliot Mangan for Nanango.<\/p>\n
