South Burnett councillor Damien Tessmann has been elected vice-president of the Federal Young Nationals after defeating two other candidates in a ballot at the annual general meeting of the Federal Executive held in Canberra today.<\/p>\n

Cr Tessmann was formerly Federal Secretary, a role he has held for the past three years.<\/p>\n

He is also a former president of the Queensland branch of the Young Nationals.<\/p>\n

Cr Tessmann told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> he hoped to be able to raise the profile of the Young Nationals with his new position as well as advocate policy.<\/p>\n

He is also currently Wide Bay Regional Chairman of the LNP.<\/p>\n

The new Young Nationals executive is:<\/p>\n

  • Vice-President – Damien Tessmann (Qld)<\/li>\n
  • Secretary – Jessica Pice Purnell (NSW)<\/li>\n

  • Policy – Lachlan Hunter (WA)<\/li>\n
  • Campaign – Tom Aubert (NSW)<\/li>\n
  • Publicity – Darcy Duncan (WA)<\/li>\n
