Reconstruction work has begun on sections of the Kilkivan-Tansey Road, west of Kilkivan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe road works include repairs to stabilise the road base, rehabilitate the road surface and improve road drainage, following damage incurred in the 2013 floods,\u201d Member for Wide Bay and Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWork is being performed between 6:00am and 6:00pm and the repairs are expected to be completed by September 17, weather permitting.\u201d<\/p>\n

To ensure the safety of motorists and road workers, traffic signals, traffic controllers, single lane closures and speed restrictions will be used as required.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile efforts are being made to minimise the impact of the road works, motorists may need to consider adding some extra time to their journey in the event that the construction causes delays,” Mr Truss said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thank motorists for their patience and co-operation during the construction period.\u201d<\/p>\n

The work is being funded through the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.<\/p>\n

The Federal Government will contribute up to 75 per cent of the cost and the remaining 25 per cent will come from the State Government.<\/p>\n

Roadworks have also begun on flood-damaged sections of the Bauple-Woolooga Road between Gootchie and Woolooga, and on the Gympie-Woolooga Road between Upper Widgee and the Wide Bay Highway.<\/p>\n
