{"id":78665,"date":"2014-08-19T22:39:17","date_gmt":"2014-08-19T12:39:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=78665"},"modified":"2020-11-27T13:52:29","modified_gmt":"2020-11-27T03:52:29","slug":"breakfast-boost-for-local-groups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2014\/08\/19\/breakfast-boost-for-local-groups\/","title":{"rendered":"Breakfast Boost For Local Groups"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_78667\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-78667\" style=\"width: 740px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/20140819breakfast1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-78667\" title=\"20140819 Mayoral breakfast\" src=\"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/20140819breakfast1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/20140819breakfast1.jpg 620w, https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/20140819breakfast1-300x186.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-78667\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann presents a cheque for $15,000 to Ron Knopke for \u00a0The South Burnett Pantry<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>August 19, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The latest recipients of the South Burnett Mayor\u2019s Community Benefit Fund were presented with their cheques at a fundraising breakfast in Kingaroy this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Round 2 of the fund was allocated to mental health initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Community Benefit Fund Committee chairperson Cheryl Dalton presented cheques to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kingaroy State High School<\/strong> &#8211; $2930 &#8211; to conduct a two-day mental health first aid workshop for teachers, interested parents and community members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Boots&#8217;n Bulldust<\/strong> &#8211; $3156 &#8211; towards running an &#8220;accidental counsellor&#8221; training workshop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Graham House<\/strong> (on behalf of the Murgon Men&#8217;s Shed) &#8211; $2000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Graham House<\/strong> &#8211; $2000 &#8211; Laughter Yoga and to buy resources from the Amanda Gore workshop that can be loaned to other groups<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications for Round 3 of the program are now open and will close on August 29.<\/p>\n<p>Mental health is again the focus, with applications sought from projects that deliver meaningful outcomes that don&#8217;t receive support from other recognised channels, and organisations that are directly addressing community welfare.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>After the distribution of the Round 2 cheques, the recipient of the $15,000 annual grant from the fund was also announced.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This cheque was presented to Ron Knopke, on behalf of the South Burnett Pantry.<\/p>\n<p>The Pantry provides subsidised foodstuffs to local residents every Friday in Kingaroy.
