The BreastScreen bus will be visiting Nanango next month<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Women aged 50 to 69 years in the Nanango area are being urged to take advantage of free breast cancer screening services when BreastScreen Queensland’s state-of-the-art digital mobile service visits Nanango Hospital later this year.<\/p>\n

The mobile service will be at the hospital from September 17 to November (the closing date will depend on bookings).<\/p>\n

BreastScreen Queensland Health Promotion Officer Jessica Hobbs said it was essential women looked after their health and had a regular breast screen.<\/p>\n

“Breast cancer is still the most common cancer affecting Queensland women,” she said.<\/p>\n

“Early detection could save your life. All women aged between 50 and 69 years are strongly encouraged to have a free breast screen every two years. All women over the age of 40 are also eligible to attend.<\/p>\n

“Women in the target age groups in the Nanango area should take the opportunity provided by the visit of the mobile service to their area to have a breast screen done.”<\/p>\n

A doctor’s referral is not required to attend the mobile screening service.<\/p>\n
