A 22-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in court later this month on six charges after allegedly taking a mini-motorbike for a spin in Doonkuna Street.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said police were contacted last Thursday afternoon by residents complaining a man was riding the bike up and down the road.<\/p>\n

Police quickly located the man and an 80cc motorbike.<\/p>\n

When they breath-tested him, he allegedly blew 0.17 BAC. But that wasn’t the end of his troubles …<\/p>\n

He has also been charged with unlicensed driving, failing to wear a helmet and riding an unregistered, uninsured and defective motorbike.<\/p>\n

The bike has also been impounded by police for 90 days.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said these sorts of mini-bikes do not meet Australian standards and cannot be registered.<\/p>\n

They cannot be ridden on any roadway or in public area, including parks.<\/p>\n

“And roadway includes footpaths,” he said.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/center>Police were kept busy near a Kingaroy licensed venue over the weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Friday night, police were called to a disturbance at 11:30pm.<\/p>\n

They found an intoxicated 19-year-old man, allegedly behaving aggressively.<\/p>\n

He was arrested and charged with a public nuisance offence.<\/p>\n

A few hours later, at 1:00am, police were called back.<\/p>\n

They found a 21-year-old Toowoomba woman standing on the footpath allegedly screaming and yelling obscenities to people inside the hotel.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the woman was also aggressive to police and had to be forcibly taken into custody. She has also been charged with public nuisance.<\/p>\n

At 10:30pm on Saturday night, a 22-year-old Kingaroy man who was refused entry to the same venue became aggressive and attempted to fight security staff.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the man was also unco-operative with police. He was also arrested and charged with public nuisance.<\/p>\n

At 12:45am on Sunday morning, a 24-year-old Kingaroy man was arrested inside the hotel.<\/p>\n

Police will allege he started a fight in the pub and refused to leave when staff tried to evict him.<\/p>\n

He has been charged with creating a disturbance in a licensed premises, failing to leave licensed premises when directed and obstructing police.<\/p>\n

The first week of August is National Missing Persons Week, \u00a0an annual event co-ordinated by the National Missing Persons Co-ordination Centre through the Australian Federal Police.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The theme for this year is “Dementia and Missing People”.<\/p>\n

The AFP says symptoms that may cause someone with dementia to go missing include forgetting well-known people or places, an inability to process questions or instructions, and emotional unpredictability.<\/p>\n

The rate of moderate to severe dementia among Australians is one in 15 people over the age of 65.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Duane Frank told southburnett.com.au<\/strong>\u00a0the Kingaroy area didn’t have a major problem with missing people.<\/p>\n

“The usual people who are reported missing here are youths that don’t want to be found. <\/p>\n

“They are safe and well but just don’t want to return home,” he said.<\/p>\n
