Ergon Energy Retail has switched to new tariff rates without the carbon price, effective from July 1.<\/p>\n

All Ergon Energy Retail bills issued from Thursday (July 24) do not include a carbon price component from July 1 onwards, delivering on the commitment to pass on the savings from the repeal of the carbon price.<\/p>\n

Customers with bills based on meter readings taken between July 1-23 inclusive were issued accounts based on the previous tariffs, so they will receive an adjustment on their next bill.<\/p>\n

The electricity tariffs available through Ergon Energy Retail are set by the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA).<\/p>\n

About a quarter of Ergon Energy Retail’s customers will receive an adjustment on their next bill, with the amount expected to be less than $10 for most residential bills.<\/p>\n

The QCA estimates the annual saving for typical residential customers from the removal of the carbon price will be about $170.<\/p>\n

The QCA also prepared a solar PV feed-in tariff rate without the carbon price, however this has not been enacted as yet by the Queensland Government.<\/p>\n

As a result, Ergon Energy Retail will continue paying customers the full feed-in tariff rate, including the carbon price, until further notice.<\/p>\n

The removal of the carbon price does not affect customers who receive the 44c\/kWh feed-in tariff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
