A Memorial Mass to celebrate the life of Sr Philomene Tiernan will be held on Saturday, August 23, \u00a0at her former school, Stuartholme, in Brisbane.<\/p>\n

The Mass, which will start at 9:30am, will be celebrated in the Stuartholme Chapel, Birdwood Terrace, Toowong.<\/p>\n

Sr Philomene, who was born in Murgon, was killed in the MH17 airliner explosion in Ukraine on July 18.<\/p>\n

Russian-backed insurgents have been accused of shooting down the plane, killing all 298 people on board, including 38 Australians.<\/p>\n

The Sacred Heart sisters have invited friends and family of Sr Phil to join together to \u00a0remember \u201ca woman who touched the lives of many people through her evident love of God and extraordinary capacity to relate to people\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Morning tea will be served after Mass.<\/p>\n

For catering purposes, the school is asking attendees to register online<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
