The first of 12 new homes being built at Cherbourg to help alleviate over-crowding welcomed its new family at the weekend.<\/p>\n

The completion of the four-bedroom house marks the first milestone in a \u00a0project by the Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council designed to reduce the town\u2019s overcrowded living.<\/p>\n

A second home is expected to be completed in a fortnight.<\/p>\n

Council construction manager Darren Purcell said his had team worked hard to produce quality buildings in partnership with Sellwood Construction and the State Government’s Department of Communities.<\/p>\n

“Having people rent these houses will provide a healthier, happier lifestyle for all the families involved,” he said.<\/p>\n
