There’s garage sales and then there’s GARAGE sales … of the type only a car dealership could arrange.<\/p>\n

Huston Nissan hosted such a garage sale on Sunday to help support a local cycling team raising funds for the Children’s Health Foundation<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Huston employees Dean Gauld and Ken Goodhew, and Ken’s wife Cathy, owner of Struddys Sports in Kingaroy, have volunteered to take part in the 10th annual Ks 4 Country Kids<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0bike ride which begins in Dalby on August 24.<\/p>\n

The three-day ride passes through the Western Downs and finishes in Chinchilla.<\/p>\n

The amateur riders each make a commitment to raise at least $1500 to benefit the Children’s Health Foundation (formerly known as the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation).<\/p>\n

Since 2003, the K’s 4 Country Kids bike ride has raised an amazing $1.2 million to help support sick children.<\/p>\n

As well as the garage sale – which featured everything from car radios to driving lights, as well as the more usual items – the Kingaroy trio is raffling an autographed 2011 State of Origin rugby league jersey (including Darren Lockyer’s signature) and a framing voucher from Framed With Style.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $10, and as there’s just 100 being sold, the odds of winning are quite good!<\/p>\n

Nissan, who are the major sponsors of the ride, have also donated an X-Trail SUV which is being raffled across Queensland.<\/p>\n

Tickets for both these prizes are available at Struddys Sports and Huston Nissan in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Tax-deductible donations to support the Children’s Health Foundation\u00a0can also be made at these locations.<\/p>\n

The trio is hoping to raise a minimum of $5000 through their efforts.<\/p>\n
