Police are appealing for public assistance in locating nine quarter horses stolen from a property near Mitchell.<\/p>\n

The horses were last sighted about two weeks ago on the property about 12km west of Mitchell.<\/p>\n

Extensive searches of the property have failed to locate the four geldings and five mares aged between 18 months and seven years old.<\/p>\n

The horses are described as one Buckskin mare, three Bay mares (one has a distinctive buckskin splash down her left shoulder), one Chestnut mare (18-months-old), three Chestnut geldings (two 18-months-old, the third is a thoroughbred cross and has a brand TLC on his left shoulder), and one Liver Chestnut gelding.<\/p>\n

UPDATE August 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Roma Stock Squad has thanked the public following the return of nine horses which were stolen from a property near Mitchell. It is believed the horses were returned to their paddock sometime overnight. The matter remains under investigation.<\/strong><\/p>\n
