South Burnett CTC today marked the completion of a 20-week training program run in conjunction with Swickers and TAFE South\u00a0West.<\/p>\n

The program was funded through the State Government’s Indigenous Funding Pool program.<\/p>\n

Two groups of five people studied for a Certificate II in meat processing, as well as undergoing “job ready” training involving resume writing. developing job-searching skills and sitting for mock job interviews.<\/p>\n

After they completed the TAFE units, the students took part in work placement with Swickers or with local butchers.<\/p>\n

Eight people graduated from the course, and four have already found jobs – at Swickers, Murgon RSL, a local piggery and a FIFO role at Easternwell.<\/p>\n

CTC Employment Liaison Officer Lizz Geppert said CTC would continue working with the other graduates to help them gain employment in the local area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
