Kingaroy Lions Club held its changeover dinner at the end of June, when past president Graham Wilson handed over the position of club president to Yvonne Dowling.<\/p>\n

Yvonne presided over her first meeting on July 9.<\/p>\n

Lions Marj and Ralph Argue reported that they had collected 1950 pairs of unused prescription glasses during the past 12 months and thanked the local businesses who acted as collection points for the glasses.<\/p>\n

The club\u2019s focus for the next month is the organisation of a women\u2019s health information evening to be held on September 15 at the Kingaroy State High School Hall. This will be presented by Dr Philip Hall, a leading Brisbane gynaecologist.<\/p>\n

Dr Hall grew up in a rural area and has a special interest in promoting the health of rural women. His information session last year about incontinence was well received by over 200 women who attended.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s topic is menopause and we are expecting to have similar numbers attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
