Recent frosts have increased the fire risk in the South Burnett, firefighters have warned.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the recent frosts experienced across North and South Burnett and Gympie, there are many areas in the region where grass is curing rapidly and fuel loads are high,\u201d Rural Fire Service Queensland North Coast Region Manager Peter Hollier said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re reminding landholders to get on the front foot as there\u2019s still have time to get out there, take control of the situation and burn off before the bushfire season commences.<\/p>\n

\u201cHazard reduction is a joint initiative which is not only the responsibility of government and local council, but also landowners.<\/p>\n

\u201cReducing fuel loads in high risk bushfire areas decreases the chance of loss of property or even life during bushfire.\u201d<\/p>\n
