Two police officers will face an anxious three months awaiting the results of blood tests after an incident in Knight Street, Kingaroy, on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said police attended a disturbance at 10:30pm after receiving a number of phone calls from local residents saying a group of intoxicated youths were fighting.<\/p>\n

“Police attempted to take a 15-year-old girl into custody,” Snr Sgt Frank said.<\/p>\n

“In the process of being moved, she deliberately spat on police officers, with the spittle making contact with their eyes and mouths.<\/p>\n

“She was totally unco-operative, extremely intoxicated and violent.”<\/p>\n

The girl appeared in Kingaroy Children’s Court yesterday and was charged with two counts of serious assault on police, wilful damage and obstructing police. She was remanded in custody to reappear tomorrow.<\/p>\n

A disease test order was issued by the court which means the girl will be required to give a blood sample for testing for communicable diseases.<\/p>\n

The two police officers will also have a series of blood tests, however there will be a three-month wait until the officers will know if any disease has been transmitted.<\/p>\n

An 18-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences after a mini-crime spree in the First Avenue area in Kingaroy last week.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police will allege the man stole items from a number of parked cars – including a child’s backpack, sat navs, sunglasses and electrical items – last Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The man also allegedly broke into a house where police say he took a set of car keys for a Holden sedan parked outside.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the man then drove the car to Ipswich where he re-fuelled at a service station without paying; the man then allegedly drove around Ipswich before returning to Kingaroy the next day and dumping the vehicle in the Kingaroy CBD.<\/p>\n

The man has been charged with burglary, unlicensed driving, shop stealing and three counts of entering premises.<\/p>\n

He has been remanded in custody to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the latest incidents were not related to the car break-ins which occurred in the Kingaroy Heights area in May, which also began on State Of Origin night.<\/p>\n

However, he said it was again a reminder to people to lock their vehicles.<\/p>\n

“All but one of the vehicles were left unlocked,” Snr Sgt Frank said.<\/p>\n

“The message is simply not getting through to people. Unfortunately, we have a small number of offenders who will walk the streets at night and just steal from cars.”<\/p>\n

On Monday, a 32-year-old Nanango man was issued with a notice to appear in court to face a charge of possessing tainted property in relation to $30,000 cash allegedly located during a police search of his Henry Street house in April.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The man is already facing a drugs charge in relation to a quantity of methamphetamine allegedly located during an earlier search.<\/p>\n

A 22-year-old man pulled over in Youngman Street, Kingaroy, at 1:00am on Saturday morning allegedly blew 0.113 when breath-tested by police.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He has been charged with drink-driving and unlicensed driving. Police also immobilised his vehicle by seizing its number plates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
