The popular Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) is being run again at Cherbourg, but this time it is being extended to parents of teenagers.<\/p>\n

In the past, the program has catered for parents or carers of children aged 12 or younger.<\/p>\n

Barambah PaCE are bringing presenters Bronwyn Murray and Michell Forster back to hold a fun, interactive workshop for carers of children aged up to 16.<\/p>\n

This will boost parent and carer skills to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Cope with teenagers’ emotions\n
  • Reduce family conflict\n
  • Get teenagers to co-operate\n
  • Build their teenagers’ survival skills\n<\/ul>\n

    The workshop will be held at the Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council training rooms from 9:00am on July 28-30 (Monday to Wednesday).<\/p>\n

    Morning tea and lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n

    Graduates who complete the course will get a certificate and $50 IGA voucher.<\/p>\n

    People who are unemployed may be able to do the training as part of their job service agency requirements.<\/p>\n
