A man who threw a handful of coins at a hotel window – which to everyone’s surprise smashed the pane – was fined $300 when he appeared in Kingaroy Magistrates Court today.<\/p>\n

Daniel John Morris pleaded guilty to wilful damage.<\/p>\n

Police said Morris threw the coins at the window after being ejected from the pub due to intoxication.<\/p>\n

Magistrate Bucknall ordered that he pay $175 restitution to the hotel, and issued an order banning him from the premises for six months.<\/p>\n

A Sri Lankan man being held at Villawood Detention Centre has been remanded to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 15.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Muthulingam Raventhiran has been charged with public nuisance and common assault following an alleged incident in Kingaroy earlier this year.<\/p>\n

A man will be sentenced in the District Court on a date to be fixed after pleading guilty today to indecent dealing of a child aged under 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A man with 13 previous convictions for unlicensed driving has been sentenced to jail after pleading guilty in Kingaroy Magistrates Court to another count of unlicensed driving.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Timothy John McDonald was pulled over by police last month on the Bunya Highway near Kumbia while driving at 110km\/h in a 100 zone.<\/p>\n

A licence check revealed his licence had been suspended by the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER) for failure to pay fines.<\/p>\n

McDonald, who was unrepresented, told the court he had moved away from Brisbane and his “idiot friends” for a new start.<\/p>\n

He said he did not know his licence was suspended as he had received no notification from SPER.<\/p>\n

He said he had “changed his life around”, now had a family and “a kid on the way” and a full-time job.<\/p>\n

Magistrate Bucknall sentenced him to three months’ jail, suspended immediately for 18 months. He was also disqualified from driving for three months and fined $250 for speeding.<\/p>\n

“You’re on your last legs here. You come back and you’ll do time. Bring your toothbrush next time,” Mr Bucknall warned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
