The students at St Mary’s Catholic College in Kingaroy got an opportunity to horse around a bit last week …<\/p>\n

St Mary’s organised the inaugural South Burnett Equestrian Challenge<\/strong> at Kingaroy Showground as part\u00a0of the school’s Catholic Education Week celebrations.<\/p>\n

Principal Mr Michael Nayler<\/strong> said he was extremely pleased with the incredible support shown by all the local school communities who took part in the event and also with the great spirit shown by the \u00a0spectators and competitors.<\/p>\n

“It ‘s wonderful to see our school communities coming together to celebrate the incredible culture of rural Australia,” Mr Nayler said.<\/p>\n

Despite being postponed from the week before due to rain, the event attracted 72 horses and riders from schools across the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Cr Kathy Duff was on hand as a judge and also presented the major awards.<\/p>\n

She said she surprised and impressed by the high standard of the horses and riders.<\/p>\n
