The State Government is inviting Queenslanders to have a say on the proposed 30-year “ResourcesQ” plan which aims to drive economic growth and create jobs in the resources sector.<\/p>\n

Deputy Premier and Member for Callide Jeff Seeney said the ResourcesQ “partnering for prosperity” consultation paper delivered on an election promise to grow resources as one of the four pillars of the economy.<\/p>\n

“The State Government has a strong plan to power-up regional Queensland and grow the state\u2019s four pillar economy, creating a brighter future for families,” he said.<\/p>\n

“The $37.9 billion sector is already a key pillar of the Queensland economy, contributing one in every four dollars to the economy and supporting one in every five jobs.<\/p>\n

“It will also create jobs of the future for today\u2019s children and it\u2019s important that we have this vision.<\/p>\n

“We are working with industry through our ResourcesQ partnership to ensure we have a strong, globally competitive resources sector so that all Queenslanders continue to benefit from our state\u2019s resources wealth.”<\/p>\n

Mr Seeney said the State Government had conducted extensive industry consultation to develop the draft vision, which is based on five key themes:<\/strong><\/p>\n
