The ‘It’s A Bloke Thing’ men’s health roadshow will be returning to the South Burnett next month<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

July 4, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

Men don’t usually talk about their health … it\u2019s a bloke thing.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why the \u2018It\u2019s A Bloke Thing\u2019 roadshow will be travelling across the Darling Downs, South Burnett and South West Queensland in July and August.<\/p>\n

Men from across the region are being invited to bring their mates, dads, brothers, sons and even their wives and partners to a relaxed evening with food, some fun and a chat about key health issues facing men today.<\/p>\n

A free beer and barbecue will be on offer, and guys will also get to have a yarn with a former NRL or Origin great.<\/p>\n

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation chief executive officer Peter Rookas said many of us know of male friends who have either delayed or refused to go to a doctor about a men\u2019s health issue and have become very ill or died.<\/p>\n

“It really is that serious,” Peter said.<\/p>\n

“We have seen the topic of men\u2019s health gradually increasing as a result of various events including our first roadshow last year, so this year we are turning it up a notch and challenging men to take action.<\/p>\n

“I want all men to realise that there is no shame in talking about their own health”.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett session will be held at Sunshine Mitre 10 in Rogers Drive, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 7.45pm on Tuesday, August 5.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Attendees will have the chance to win a framed, signed rugby league legends jersey, with the winner to be announced at the end of the roadshow\u2019s tour.<\/p>\n

The roadshow has been made possible through a donation to the Foundation from the “It\u2019s A Bloke Thing” Prostate Cancer Luncheon fundraiser that is held in Toowoomba each year.<\/p>\n
