The South Burnett Endurance Riders Association will be able to provide water for horses in even the driest locations thanks to a new 2000 litre water trailer funded by Stanwell.<\/p>\n

Endurance Riders president Michael Shaw said the club had to be able to provide water to thirsty horses over long endurance rides where there may be little natural water available.<\/p>\n

The water cart may also be used by groups such as emergency services which sometimes need a portable water supply in hotter months.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new water trailer really helps the endurance community, which recently had 165 riders at an event at Blackbutt,\u201d Michael said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEndurance horses need a lot of water, especially in hot weather. They can drink 10 to 20 litres at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael said Stanwell had been extremely supportive of the club.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased to be part of a great project with a great local group,” Tarong power station Site Manager Tarong Dennis Franklin said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe congratulate the South Burnett Endurance Riders Association, which is a voluntary group, for this wonderful multi-purpose idea that helps both riders and possibly groups such as emergency services.\u201d<\/p>\n

The endurance riding club had rides of 20, 40, 90 and 120 kilometres at their most recent event.<\/p>\n

The water trailer will be towed behind one of the club\u2019s vehicles and replaces a number of smaller tubs previously used to provide water.<\/p>\n
