Toyota dealers Ken and Brett Mills have banded together to give back to the helicopter rescue service that helped save the life of Ken’s grandson, Tyler Favier, just three years ago.<\/p>\n

In January 2011, the then 11-year-old Tyler was transferred from Kingaroy Hospital to the Mater Children\u2019s Hospital in Brisbane suffering ketoacidosis, a life-threatening condition associated with Type 1 diabetes.<\/p>\n

Tyler was in a critical condition and remained in intensive care for three days.<\/p>\n

The Mills family has now donated a Toyota Atara to RACQ CareFlight in honour of the tireless work the service has performed over the past three decades, airlifting more than 40,000 patients.<\/p>\n

The Mills family has car yards in Kingaroy, Mundubbera, Nambour and Maroochydore and knows firsthand how necessary RACQ CareFlight Rescue is to the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re obviously extremely grateful for everything they did for Tyler,\u201d Brett said.
\n<\/strong>
\n\u201cIt was his first flight in a helicopter which was his ticket to a second chance at life.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe realise without CareFlight it could have been much worse for Tyler.<\/p>\n

\u201cCareFlight connects rural communities with specialist medical care and the donated vehicle is our way of giving back.\u201d<\/p>\n

The car will be used for the next two years to assist CareFlight\u2019s operations throughout the region to support fundraising initiatives and community events.<\/p>\n
