Tired of your pet wandering off? Fed up with driving around the neighbourhood looking for your elusive pooch? <\/p>\n

If so, the RSPCA says you need … Trakapet!
\n<\/strong>
\nThe Trakapet collar is a purpose-built GPS locating device that has been specifically designed for the pet market.<\/p>\n

The RSPCA says it\u2019s robust, water resistant, aesthetically pleasing and compact and has been designed to be worn by active pets with an abundance of energy.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur call centre takes thousands of lost and found calls every year in Queensland,\u201d RSPCA Qld spokesperson Michael Beatty said. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis device is ideal for someone who has a pet that is prone to escape and go wandering. Hopefully it can help reduce the problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cFind Mode\u201d, which operates via a smartphone application, allows the pet owner to program the TrakaPet to report their pet’s location every 180 seconds. It will also turn on a high intensity LED light built into the unit to make the pet easier to spot at night. <\/p>\n

The pet\u2019s location quickly can be tracked using maps on the MyLocate portal, or the smartphone applications.<\/p>\n

The collar contains an integrated SIM card with a 24-month connection to an Australian telecommunications provider so there is no searching, buying, inserting and topping up SIM cards.<\/p>\n

Owners can program Trakapet to receive alerts via SMS or push messages that alert them should the wandering pet decide to leave a defined SafeZone. <\/p>\n

They then put the unit into Chase Mode to get constant location updates as well as activating the LED to make it easier to see them.<\/p>\n
