June 23, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n An 18-year-old man has been charged with wilful damage after the latest vandalism at the Kingaroy War Memorial.<\/p>\n Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said South Burnett Regional Council staff confronted youths drawing skulls and other graffiti on the walls of the Rotunda in Memorial Park on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n The youths were allegedly using marker pens to draw on the walls. However, some of the pens were broken and were also being used to spread ink around.<\/p>\n The youths fled when confronted, but Council workers immediately contacted police with a description.<\/p>\n Police located one of the alleged offenders on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n The graffiti has since been removed from the Rotunda.<\/p>\n “It’s disappointing behaviour. The community is well and truly sick and tired of the vandalism at the War Memorial,” Snr Sgt Frank said.<\/p>\n A 63-year-old Kingaroy man has died after falling from a ladder at his home at the weekend. Kingaroy Police are disappointed that four motorists were found drink-driving over the weekend on local streets. Three hours later, police tested an 18-year-old male driver in Walter Road. He allegedly blew 0.115 BAC.<\/p>\n Both these readings are more than twice the legal limit.<\/p>\n Then on Saturday night, police stopped a vehicle at 9:30pm in Knight Street. The 19-year-old Kingaroy man allegedly blew 0.063 BAC. As well as drink-driving, the motorist has also been charged with unlicensed driving.<\/p>\n An hour later, Kingaroy police tested a 48-year-old man in Youngman Street, Kingaroy. \nAt 10:00pm on Friday night, a 51-year-old Toowoomba man was pulled over and tested in Haly Street, Kingaroy. He allegedly registered 0.105 BAC.<\/p>\n
