Do you have a spare bra that’s past its use-by date? Then the Many Threads sewing group at Cherbourg would love to hear from you.<\/p>\n

The women from Many Threads, who meet at the Ration Shed every Wednesday, are looking for an estimated 12,000 …. yes, 12,000 … bras to hang along the fenceline from Cherbourg to Murgon.<\/p>\n

The “Bizarre Bra Event”, to be held in October, is designed to raise awareness about breast cancer.<\/p>\n

Pink boxes will be appearing soon in Cherbourg and Murgon where bras can be dropped off.<\/p>\n

In Kingaroy, bras can be left at the southburnett.com.au office at 6 Cornish Street, and we’ll make sure they make their way safely to Cherbourg.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Running in conjunction with the “Bra Fence” will be a decorated bra competition.<\/p>\n

Many of the creations for this are already taking shape under the skilled hands of the sewing group.<\/p>\n

Some are just a lot of fun, while others have a more serious side, dedicated to the memory of a friend or relative who has died from breast cancer.<\/p>\n

All the decorated bras will be put on display at the Ration Shed during the “Bizarre Bra Event”.<\/p>\n

Anyone can enter the decorated bra competition – just drop your creations off at the Ration Shed with the $2 entry fee per bra.<\/p>\n
