Representatives from South Burnett sporting clubs are being invited to have lunch in Kingaroy with Queensland Sport Minister Steve Dickson next Wednesday (June 18).<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington says the clubs will have the opportunity to meet Mr Dickson and hear more about the upcoming round of \u201cGet in the Game\u201d funding.<\/p>\n

\u201cRound 3 of the \u2018Get in the Game\u2019 sport funding program opens on July 1 and this is a terrific chance for local clubs to come along and hear more about the different levels of funding available,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMinister Dickson is keen to help our local clubs learn more about \u2018Get in the Game\u2019 and encourage them to consider putting in an application.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are three different parts to the program. \u00a0Applications for “Get Going” and “Get Playing” open on \u00a0July 1 and “Get Started” opens on July 15.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll also be discussing the Get Started program which provides vouchers to families with children who would like to participate in a sporting club, but simply cannot afford to do so,” Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

“So far, our government has issued almost 54,000 ‘Get Started’ vouchers State-wide to help children sign-up to a local sporting club.”<\/p>\n
