The Murgon Mustangs<\/strong> triumphed in the final of the annual Mini Mod Carnival<\/strong> played in Wondai on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Mini Mod is an introductory form of rugby league, with modified rules, which emphasises skill development and having fun.<\/p>\n

The carnival is the brainchild of \u00a0the Wondai Proston JRL and attracts more than 500 junior players to Wondai every year.<\/p>\n

Fifty-five teams, ranging from U7s to U12s, \u00a0from throughout the Wide Bay area competed on four playing fields in a huge day of football.<\/p>\n

Most of the matches were quick turn-around 15-minute games, but the Under 12s played 19-minute matches on the main Wondai Oval.<\/p>\n

The U12s competed for points with the two teams gaining the most playing off in the final, where\u00a0Murgon Mustangs defeated the Central Burnett Brumbies 3 tries to 1.<\/p>\n

Cohen Beggs<\/strong>, from Murgon, was named the Player of the Final.<\/p>\n
