Kingaroy vet Stephen Upton hopes South Burnett residents will take advantage of a new desexing campaign being run by the RSPCA in conjunction with the South Burnett Regional Council.<\/p>\n

The campaign, which began on June 1, will run for three months and will see vets reducing their desexing and microchipping prices by 20 per cent.<\/p>\n

And unlike the last time a similar campaign was run locally, there’s no need to pick up vouchers in advance.<\/p>\n

The campaign, which is being run in nine local council areas, will be extended across Queensland if it is successful.<\/p>\n

To take advantage of the offer, simply book your cat or dog into one of the vets taking part.<\/p>\n

Costs will vary depending on the animal and the procedure, but will be 20 per cent off the vet’s regular price.<\/p>\n

Stephen, from the Kingaroy Veterinary Surgery, said most South Burnett vets were taking part (see list below).<\/p>\n

He said the campaign to reduce litters was becoming critical as the RSPCA was being overwhelmed with animals.<\/p>\n

Pet owners will also get the chance to win a $1200 BP petrol voucher and an entry into a draw to win a family holiday.<\/p>\n
