Kingaroy’s recent spate of thefts – which began on the evening of Game 1 of the State of Origin – is continuing.<\/p>\n

Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, from Kingaroy Police, said thieves had again targeted vehicles and garages in the Cowie Drive and Kingaroy Heights areas.<\/p>\n

He said there had also been attempts to enter sheds and houses in the area.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said it appeared unknown offenders were targeting homes, cars and garages in the newer areas of Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

He said that despite publicity about the recent thefts, people were still leaving their cars and garages unlocked, which was simply inviting trouble.<\/p>\n

“Lock it or lose it,” he said.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank again reminded people that leaving cars unlocked would void their insurance in most cases.<\/p>\n

Police investigations into the thefts were continuing.<\/p>\n

Anyone who has had anything stolen and had not yet reported it to police were urged to do so.<\/p>\n

Any resident who had witnessed anything should contact Kingaroy Police directly on (07) 4160-4900 or anonymously to CrimeStoppers on 1800-333-000.<\/p>\n

“We need the community to assist with information,” Snr Sgt Frank said.<\/p>\n

“Police are undertaking a range of strategies to address the issue and are confident that it will be resolved, but we also need people to take individual responsibility, as they should always do.”<\/p>\n
