Volunteers helping volunteers … isn’t this the country way? Last night at the Kumbia Rural Watch meeting a special event occurred.<\/p>\n

A presentation was made by the Kingaroy SES (which encompasses Kumbia) to the Rural Watch committee of a colour laser printer to assist them with their correspondence and newsletter production.<\/p>\n

The Kumbia Rural Watch distributes more than 500 newsletters every quarter throughout the region, indicating an outstanding interest and commitment of the community to neighbourhood matters.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy SES presented the printer as part of its community involvement, and especially to demonstrate volunteers helping volunteers.<\/p>\n

Morris Winter, chair of the Rural Watch Group, motioned that he would write a thank you letter to SES, which brought a resounding call from the attendees “using the colour printer” !<\/p>\n

The Rural Watch meeting was attended by about 20 community-minded people as well as Kumbia Police officer-in-charge Senior Constable Adam Entwistle. Special guest was Acting Dalby Inspector Lance Guteridge who chatted about his long affinity with the Kumbia district.<\/p>\n

Kumbia Rural Watch has a proud history of attracting special police guests with both Inspectors as well as Superintendents visiting from Gympie, which was the District’s Headquarters prior to the recent police reorganisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
