SES volunteers will be conducting paddock and urban searches at the weekend<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

If you see a lot of SES volunteers out and about at the weekend, scouring bushland around Kingaroy, don’t worry. No one has gone missing or in need of help …<\/p>\n

The men and women in orange will be participating in a Landsearch Training Course on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Landsearch is one of the core roles of the SES. Searching for lost or missing people, or conducting forensic searches (such as searching for weapons or other items) tests the skills and expertise of SES volunteers.<\/p>\n

Volunteers from Mundubbera, Cooloola, Eidsvold, Wondai, Blackbutt, Kumbia and Kingaroy will be honing their skills with a combination of theory and practical activities.<\/p>\n

“Bringing members from all over the North Coast region to Kingaroy allows members to interact, and work with fellow members,” Kingaroy SES Group Leader\u00a0Peter Verbakel said.<\/p>\n

“Searches usually involve a large number of personnel, so it’s important that members can effectively work with members from other areas.”<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Police have welcomed the training activity, and operations permitting, may attend the training course as it progresses through the day and evening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
