The Nanango Theatre Company will be rolling out their first production of the year on Friday night … and audiences will be rolling in the aisles.<\/p>\n

The NTC will be performing the British comedy “First Things First” at the Nanango Opera House in Elk Street, with supper nights on May 23, 24 and 30 followed by a wine and cheese night on May 31.<\/p>\n

The play is the group’s first production since their hugely popular theatre restaurant show “Jest Call Me Cowboy”, which played to packed houses at the Wondai, Kingaroy and Nanango RSL clubs in November and December.<\/p>\n

The new comedy is about two friends, Pete and George, who are so close that George has been the best man at both of Pete’s weddings.<\/p>\n

Pete – now happily married to Sarah – is appalled when news arrives that his first wife Jessica wasn’t killed in a climbing accident as he had thought, but is still alive and keen to resume their marriage.<\/p>\n

This unexpected discovery leads to a series of hilarious situations as both men try to find a way out of this desperate plight without upsetting either of Pete’s wives or his second wife’s powerful mother.<\/p>\n

“First Things First” was written by playwright and actor Derek Benfield, who wrote more than 30 plays while appearing in many roles in popular TV shows such as Coronation Street, Rumpole of the Bailey, Breakaway and First of the Summer Wine.<\/p>\n

The show is being produced by NTC president Lynda Archdall, who also has a role in the play.<\/p>\n

Tickets for “First Things First” can be bought in advance from the Nanango Visitor Information Centre at the Energy Museum or by phoning (07) 4171-0100.<\/p>\n

Unless sold out, some tickets will also be available at the door before each performance.<\/p>\n

Doors will open at 7:00pm each night, and all performances start at 7:30pm sharp.<\/p>\n
