Yarraman news:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Mother\u2019s Day Bowls in Yarraman was a highly successful program.<\/p>\n

There were five rinks of triples over 15 ends, but it was the final rink to finish that attracted the gallery.<\/p>\n

Grandma Lorri Holmes\u2019 team played against her daughter Terri Silcox from Gympie.<\/p>\n

The pair had last played socially on their holiday at Norfolk Island earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The gallery wasn’t bi-partisan either! Grand-daughter Curtsie – also from Gympie – vocally supported her mother.<\/p>\n

The game went end for end throughout and at the start of the last end Grandma was two points in front.<\/p>\n

When it was the skips turn to bowl, daughter Terri looked like holding three.<\/p>\n

But Grandma took the kitty into the ditch and sat on it with her second bowl.<\/p>\n

And then with her last bowl, she took out Terri\u2019s bowl near the head and sat on the lip of the ditch for two, taking the match 16-12.<\/p>\n

Grandma certainly showed them how to handle a game of bowls when you are under pressure!<\/p>\n

Yarraman Bowls Club gardener Neil Currell showed off his artistry when he picked almost 200 chrysanthemum blossoms from the club’s gardens to make a welcome sign for players attending the Mother\u2019s Day tournament<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Because it was a social Mother\u2019s Day game, trophies were drawn out of the barrel.<\/p>\n

The winning lead was Roy Wrembeck.<\/p>\n

Winning second was Di Currell, and winning skip Ivy Wrembeck.<\/p>\n

Five consolation trophies of Mother\u2019s Day chocolates were then awarded.<\/p>\n

Bill Holmes is congratulated by Neil Johnson on his 25-16 win after the pair battled it out in the second semi-final of the Men\u2019s A Singles championship on Wednesday<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In the Men\u2019s Club, the hot news is the two semi-finals of the Men\u2019s A Grade championships that have been played.<\/p>\n

On Mother\u2019s Day, Bill Holmes defeated Ron “Booie” Lucas 26-4 in a runaway win in the quarter finals of the Men\u2019s A Grade Championship Singles.<\/p>\n

But then on Wednesday, Bill Holmes had to play Neil Johnson in a semi.<\/p>\n

Johnson has been in good form in recent weeks and skipped away to a healthy lead.<\/p>\n

Holmes picked up a few ends and looked like making a fight of it, but Johnson applied the pressure and won 25-16.<\/p>\n

He now meets Brian Dugdell in the final on a date to be notified by the Games Director.<\/p>\n

It will be an exciting match.<\/p>\n

Bill Holmes defeated Ron ‘Booie’ Lucas 26-4 in the semi-finals of the Men\u2019s A Grade Championship Singles at Yarraman Bowls last Saturday; both checked the score card with marker Kerry Knowles<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The ladies also played a couple of Championship games on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

In an A Pairs match. Ivy Wrembeck and Kay Dugdell defeated Sandra Currell and Alison Anderson 20-16.<\/p>\n

And in a close A Singles match, Jenny Moore defeated Di Currell 25-23.<\/p>\n

It was a very close game. After 29 ends the score was 23-all.<\/p>\n

And in social games on Ladies Day:<\/p>\n
