Traevonnah Fisher would walk past the Cherbourg basketball courts and hardly give them a thought.<\/p>\n

Then she played a bit of the sport at her Murgon State School in the first term this year.<\/p>\n

Basketball coach Sue Rewald spotted Traevonnah mucking around with mates and saw the young girl had talent.<\/p>\n

She suggested the sporting all-rounder try out for the South Burnett U12s team.<\/p>\n

The 10-year-old took the chance and made it as an off-guard.<\/p>\n

Traevonnah then made the Possibles-Probables match at the end of the Wide Bay trials in Bundaberg on April 23-24.<\/p>\n

Sadly, she didn’t make the final cut but she has decided to play club basketball in Kingaroy next term.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a fair hike at a 45-minute drive each way but mum, Tessa, is keen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe support her in all her sporting abilities and keep encouraging her,\u201d Tessa said.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not easy to keep up with the young dynamo.<\/p>\n

A week after her basketball trials, Traevonnah made the South Burnett U11 mixed boys-girls rugby league team and will try out for the Wide Bay side on May 18\u201319.<\/p>\n

She plays for the Hornets U12s as a playmaking five-eighth and loves anything with a bat or ball.<\/p>\n

Traevonnah has no idea what she wants to do when she grows up but Tessa is happy for her daughter to be involved in a lot of things.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gives her focus, a purpose and she loves her sport,\u201d Tessa said.<\/p>\n
