Alan Irwin and Hugh Harrison 29-9<\/li>\n<li>Malcolm Macleod and Glen Turner def. Ashley Pinchbeck, Trevor Turner 27-12<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The final was played between Malcolm Macleod and Glen Turner against Greg Schulz and Mark Williams.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Macleod and Turner took a 3 shot lead after the first end, but then lost the next four ends to trail 7 to 3.<\/p>\n<p>The lead then changed again and at end 12 Macleod and Turner lead 14 shots to 12.<\/p>\n<p>The game swung to and fro and after end 19, Macleod and Turner led 19 to 17.<\/p>\n<p>Schulz and Williams then gained 2 shots on the 20th end to level<\/p>\n<p>The 21st (and final) end was played and was no less exciting than the rest of the game.<\/p>\n<p>With all to play for, Macleod delivered his bowl and carried the kitty into the ditch to hold shot.<\/p>\n<p>Schulz and Williams tried valiantly, but they were unable to draw a winning shot and Macleod and Turner ran out winners 20 to 19.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Last Sunday, in Pairs and Triples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bob Robinson and Beryl Woods def. Sylvia Fanning, Muriel Benfield and Ben Pratap 30-12<\/li>\n<li>Di McNeilage and Brian Havell def Bernie Coyne and Allan Ward 24-13<\/li>\n<li>Lew Saunders and Greg Pogson def Julie Saunders and Trevor George 31-18<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Social bowls have been quite popular, with a big roll-up the other day.<\/p>\n<p>Bob Hammond and Greg Pogson topped the leader board with 17 points.<\/p>\n<p>In the Men&#8217;s Social last Tuesday, a match of interest was Keith Carroll and Ed Haycock def Joe Aglizzio and Neil Drew 22-18;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Esk news:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>The Easter break was an excellent opportunity for some maintenance work on the green, which was then closed due to the chemical residue.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last Sunday was the Gatton social round robin, which is played between Durack-Inala, Mt Crosby and of course Gatton and Esk.
