(Photo: AGL)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>April 22, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The State Government is seeking feedback on a new code which will be used to assess wind farm developments in Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>The code will be incorporated into State Development Assessment Provisions which would enable future wind farm proposals to be assessed by the State Assessment and Referral Agency.<\/p>\n<p>This effectively transfers responsibility for assessing a wind farm development from a local council to the State Government.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The State Government says the new code will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate the establishment of new wind farms or the expansion of existing wind farms in appropriate locations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure wind farms avoid potential adverse impacts on the community and environment in the construction, operation and decommissioning\u00a0 of wind farms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For information about providing feedback, visit the
