Kingaroy Police are urging motorists to be vigilant around school zones now the Easter break is over.<\/p>\n

Students can be unpredictable in their excitement to return to school and see their friends.<\/p>\n

Motorists should also show extra caution around school bus areas, as children may unexpectedly emerge from between or in front of buses.<\/p>\n

In the South Burnett Regional Council area, the school zone times are 8:00am\u20139:30am and 2:30pm\u20134:00pm.<\/p>\n

As school zone times in other Council areas may differ from these times, always pay close attention to the times indicated when coming into school zones.<\/p>\n

        Across Queensland,\u00a0 the Easter Road Safety Campaign concluded at 11.59pm last night (April 21).\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

        More than 18,500 drivers were fined for speeding and more than 400 people charged with drink driving over the five-day campaign.<\/p>\n

        Three people were killed on Queensland roads over Easter, compared with four during the corresponding period last year.<\/p>\n

        The highest speed detected was a vehicle travelling at 193km\/h in a 100km\/h zone on the Bruce Highway at Murrumba Downs.<\/p>\n

        The highest drink-driving reading over the five days of the campaign was more than five times the legal limit,\u00a0 0.282 BAC at Parramatta Park in Cairns.<\/p>\n

        More than 82,700 random breath tests were carried out, with 419 people charged with drink-driving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
